James Gurney has issued another Art by Committee challenge. He takes a random snippet from a science fiction manuscript and invites you to illustrate it. There is no context provided and the text is usually pretty wacky. He stopped doing these a few months ago but has started again on a monthly basis.
This one month's challenge was to illustrate "I should stay here and keep an eye out". I find that the simpler the quote the harder these challenges are. I was stumped until it occurred to me to make an homage to one of my all time favorite comics.

You did a good job composing the many figures in that drawing. I'm glad the challenge was back, but like you, thought it was harder because of the simplicity. Now a banana tree fallin' on ya, that's got my wheels turning.
